I have a quick story that may put things into perspective. In the ’60s, ’70s and early ’80s, Vince Gironda ran a world-famous gymnasium in Southern California. A majority of the top bodybuilders and world-class athletes trained there.
While on a business trip, I had the opportunity to visit this famous gymnasium. What I saw will forever be a valuable memory and a worthwhile lesson. Vince Gironda’s world-famous gym had approximately eight pieces of equipment, none of which was elaborate or highly technical.
What I noticed was the techniques Gironda used with every client, particularly that every repetition was performed in a very strict fashion. His high-quality workouts replaced the long, low intensity training sessions that were popular in nearly every other gym.
