What does that mean anyway? Let me use an example so you can feel what I’m trying to say.
The Wild Physique
Ultimate Bodybuilding For Men and Women With Vince Gironda
Vince Gironda believed that completely developed deltoids are the foundation for a great upper body.
It’s the area in each exercise where intensity screams off the scale. It’s where we need to slow … way down … so the incredible power of squared numbers can explode our progress.
The routine 15 sets of 4 reps (15 x 4) is done when you’ve experimented with routines like 3 x 8, 6 x 6, 8 x 8, 4 x 12 – it is used for “muscle confusion.”
The 3 x 8 (3 sets of 8 reps) protocol is used for all body parts except for calves, which need higher reps and sets (you can start calves at 3 x 10 or 3 x 12, and then progressively work to 3 x 20 reps).
Vince Gironda taught that “bent-over squats” for most are not a true quad developer. He found that students would cheat and leverage themselves in the movement to produce a great butt, hip, and stomach expander.
As with any exercise, Vince Gironda stressed isolation of the hamstring muscle.
I am intrigued about Vince Gironda’s idea of training 21 days and resting seven – have you tried it or have you known Vince to strongly recommend it?
Vince Gironda always recommended various forms of front squatting with the heels raised, and or hacks and sissy squats but these exercises have always been rough on my knees.
Did Vince Gironda have a five-day colon kit that would shrink the abs and did he have a list of 15 steps to good health?
